The Jan Steen is actually an entire canal house rather than an apartment located at the entrance of the Jordaan, and next to the Stuyvesant apartment. It offers three full floors. The living room which can double as a bedroom on one, the kitchen with adjoining dining room and bathroom on the next floor and the wood panneled loft master bedroom with yet another bathroom, containing a bathtub, on the top floor. This setup offers maximum privacy for two couples sharing a house.
Jan Steen is located at an intersection of two of Amsterdam's 17th century canals and wedged between the famous "nine litle streets" neighbourhood, that retained a village like atmosphere and the "Spieghelkwartier" which is the envy of many muses when it comes to the quality of the antiques on display. With the Jordaan only a few paces away you will not be short of places to wine and dine and shop in hundreds of quaint boutiques.
